Co-active coaching

Yes, because we are all AMAZING.

Last weekend I finally made one of my dreams to come true. I am still so excited about it I feel like smiling to strangers and walking feels like dancing!

I participated in a Fundamentals course in Co-active coaching by CTI - The Coaches Training Institute in London. I thought I already knew a lot about coaching after reading so many books on life coaching, maditation, mindfullness etc. but it turned out there is so much more! Coaching is about practising it, not about reading and making notes.

Coaching includes a special set of skills such as listening in three different levels and putting all the attention to the coachee, who is the center of attention. Coaching is not about the coach itself, giving answers or opinions at all, but helping the coachee to find the answers in them selves and take the next steps to make their wildest dreams come true! Believe it or not, but what I have seen last weekend this is true and amazing!

Most importantly, coaching is not concentrating on problems. I thought going deeper into problems was necessary to solve them, but concentrating too much on the problem actually keeps us in low and negative energies, which on the other hand prevents us to see the solution. Instead, coaching aims to lift people up and make them see what is really important to them by focusing on what they love, makes them feel wonderful, smile and shine. The secret is to stay in the higher energies where we have the most creative and positive view on our lives. We all are naturally creative, resourceful and amazing. Isn't that great!

There is so much more to come!

Are you really listening?

I pumbed into this poem, which reminds us what listening is all about. Do you feel people are really listening to you? Are you really listening others?

"When I ask you to listen to me, and you start to give advice you have not done what I asked.

When I ask you to listen to me and you begin to tell me why I shouldn't feel that way, you are trampling on my feelings.
When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to do something to solve my problem, you have failed me, strange as that may seem.

Listen. All I asked was that you listen, not talk or do - just hear me.

Advice is cheap; two cents will get you both Dear Abby and Billy Graham in the same newspaper.

And I can do for myself; I'm not helpless.
When you do something for me that I can and need to do for myself, you contribute to my fear and weakness.

But when you accept as a simple fact that I do feel what I feel, no matter how irrational, then I can quit trying to convince you and can get about the business of-understanding what's behind this irrational feeling.

And when that's clear, the answers are obvious and I don't need advice.

Irrational feelings make sense when we understand what's behind them. Perhaps that's why prayer and meditation works, sometimes, for some people because a Higher Power is mute and doesn't give advice or try to fix things. Meditation and prayer is talking to our inner-self which only listens... and lets us work it out for ourselves.

So, please -Listen and just hear me. And if you want to talk, wait a minute for your turn; and I'll listen to you."

"A naturally therapeutic person is one who, by a natural response to those in pain, empowers them to realize their own healing potential lies within them, and never in the one who is helping or giving advice."

Gratefull also today

The original idea of this blog was to be more aware of the things in my life I am gratefull for and write them down every day. Ok, I wrote so many things down, but didn't succeed to do it every single day. Anyways, I just went through all the pages I had filled so far and I was surprised they were so many and there were some very funny reasons to be gretafull. There is always something positive in one's day. Some extracts:

I am happy that...
  • I finally made that phone call
  • sun is shining
  • I called my parents
  • I am Healthy and in good shape
  • that I could read that boring report
  • that I feel something even if it is sadness
  • I can do that exam tomorrow, it is one step closer to the degree
  • I ate speculoos ice cream
  • I have wonderful friends
  • I could speak about my feelings
  • so many things are possible for me
  • this shitty day is almost over
  • tomorrow is a new day
  • I don't have to know everything now
  • I learned something new about him
  • I have everything I need

To be continued :)

Beautiful, wonderful song

Dried wells and fallen trees
Breaking Ice and poison seas
All these things I’m told could end my world
Sunlight and missing shields
Flooded plains and blackened fields
All these things I’m told could ruin my world
Statesmen and lawful thieves
Short term gains and hidden deals
All these things I’m told could end my world
Aint it time we had a saviour
Someone beautiful, beautiful
Were in need of a redeemer
Someone wonderful wonderful

Air Power and rapid streams
Sailing ships and solar dreams
All these things I’m told could save my world
Small feats and bigger dreams
Greater goods and less machines
All these things I know can change my world

But as far as I can see
There's no one watching over me
No one who could come and save my world

Maybe I could be a saviour,
Someone beautiful, beautiful
Maybe you could be our leader,
Someone wonderful, wonderful.
